Introduction to ICSEMIS
Everyone knows about the Olympic Games … most people know about the Paralympic Games … some know about the Cultural Olympiad … and more and more are learning about the associated scientific Convention or, to give it its full name, the International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS). The first ICSEMIS was held in Guangzhou, China in 2008 just prior to the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.

ICSEMIS 2012 attracts world’s top universities
The pre-Olympic sport science convention ICSEMIS 2012 – starts on July 19th in Glasgow. In addition to drawing in delegates from over 70 countries, it has attracted delegates from 71 UK Universities and colleges and from some of the world’s most prestigious universities including Yale, Harvard and MIT. HRH Princess Royal confirmed as opening ICSEMIS 2012
The ICSEMIS 2012 Local Organising Committee is delighted to announce that HRH The Princess Royal will officially open the Convention on Thursday 19 July 2012. As a former Olympian, a member of the London 2012 Organising Committee and a member of the International Olympic Committee; Princess Anne’s sporting background is the ideal match for ICSEMIS 2012.
