Friday, 03 August 2012 International Pierre de Coubertin Symposium The International Pierre de Coubertin Committee Symposium on "Olympism, Olympic Education and Learning Legacies" will be hosted by Canterbury Christ Church University. The Symposium will discuss and debate the wide range of educational opportunities for an Olympic host city, looking at London 2012 and beyond. The symposium also welcomes contributions in relation to Coubertin’s vision, values and ideals on Olympism and their relevance for the future. The ‘call for abstracts’ is open to all researchers from Olympic studies, sport pedagogy, history, sociology and the broader umbrella of social sciences. Some round tables on selected themes with distinguished experts in this field will also take place.
